I want to talk to you today about what’s causing some of your neck pain and why specific chiropractic is so important to fixing it.
And so, when you come into the office, the big idea with chiropractic is that your brain controls everything else through your body.
And in between each one of these bones in your spine, you have nerves that exist on both sides of the spine. And these nerves run out to every part of your body.
It’s how your body controls if you get a cut and if it’s healed, how you digest your food, and then how you sense that pain that you may be experiencing in your neck.
And so when you come into the office, we’re going to be super specific with finding out exactly where in your spine you have a subluxation, and that means which bone needs to be adjusted.
And so at home, you might turn your head. You might hear popping and cracking. And it might help a little bit. But the big concern with that is that over time it becomes a bigger issue.
And how that works is that if you have this joint in your spine that’s not moving, when you move around, you hear some of those pops and clicks, you might actually be getting the joint above and below the joint that’s the problem in there that’s not moving.
So these two joints above and below will move more to make up for the joint that’s not moving here.
And so over time, that leads to degeneration in through this joint that’s not moving, and it’s a spot where you’ve got to get adjusted.
You have to fix that joint that’s not moving, a subluxation, so that you don’t have that degeneration.
And so, I’ll explain that in more depth on just the joint level.

So when you see a joint’s isolated here, if this joint right here is subluxated, it’s not moving, where it’s locked up, it’s not moving, that’s where we want to go in and adjust.
What we want to see that’s normal is that that joint moves nice and easy, there’s a nice, big disc
space in through here, and in the area right here where that nerve’s exiting, if you notice, it’s nice and open.
There’s plenty of room for that nerve to move out of there.
Over time, whether it’s a car accident maybe you were in, whether it’s a lot of just desk work, small things over time, just from posture that add up, it can become something bigger.
And so when we start to see this, where you start to have that disc space that starts to narrow in through there, some of these bones, you start to see spurring in through here.
And then this area where that nerve’s exiting? Yeah. What do you notice now? It’s starting to get smaller through there. And those nerves can actually get smaller as well.
This joint just doesn’t move how the other one does.
And the good thing is that if we find this, we know we can help you.
Because this can be causing your neck pain. It’s a joint where it’s not moving, it’s causing pain when you move. And then it’s starting to degenerate in through there.

And so that’s where we go in. We find specifically where these joints are that are subluxated, i.e. not moving, and then we go in through an x-ray and we double check our palpation to where they’re not moving.
And we’ll actually look at you on x-ray, see how it’s moving so that we can be specific and adjust just the subluxations, just the joints in your spine that are causing your issues.
